This is so much fun! Using wool roving, a felting needle, and a wool “canvas” you can create a work of art. And it’s really easy! In this class, you’ll learn about needle felting with wool roving. If you have a design or picture you’d like to create - that’s great! If not - there will be a myriad of design ideas available in class to jump-start your creativity. Come join this class to learn basic needle felting skills, work with soft wools, and have fun! You’ll go home with a framed/finished piece.

This class will increase the complexity for students to build their watercolor painting skills. In this class, students will learn how to loosely create a landscape or floral painting using the principles of value and depth. Students will continue to develop their skills with new techniques while building confidence with colors and brushstrokes to create a beautiful landscape or floral. Students may choose to do a 11”x15” or 12”x18” painting.

Are you looking for more studio time to work on your paintings? Bring anything you want to paint with and spend three hours with Bonnie guiding you through instructions on your artwork, including color mixing, brush techniques, composition, drawing and answers for any questions. If you have your own supplies and would like to use them (i.e. favorite brushes, paint colors) please bring them. If you want to use the classroom paint supplies, there will be an additional charge of $10. Canvases are available for purchase, and various sizes are available. Join instructor Mary Mertes to throw a bowl on the pottery wheel. Mary will guide you on how to arrange your pottery wheel workspace, clay, water, and tools. Then you will center your clay on the wheel, shape the walls, and finish the rim of your bowl. You will then learn to cut your bowl free from the pottery wheel. Design and create a mosaic trinket tray (5 1/2"x10 3/8") to toss your spare keys and odds and ends on! Instructor Cindy Orzel will guide you in how to work with glass and aid in your design. In part 1, you will cut and set you glass. Please come with a design in mind as well as a color scheme! This part is the lengthiest so please feel free to bring a beverage or snack! Part 2 will be dedicated to grouting. This part takes approximately 20 minutes. Part 3 will be dedicated to cleaning your mosaic and adding any additional decorations to your piece. She will paint with you step by step in creating an impasto oil painting of birch trees using special tools, pallet knives, and brushes. All CWCC classes or workshops are non-refundable unless CWCC cancels a class or camp due to weather, health, an emergency, or low attendance. In those cases, the student will be notified of the cancellation as soon as possible and will be offered a credit for the class that is canceled, or (if possible) the option to move into a different class or camp being offered.
