Coil & Wrap a Unique Basket! with Jeanne Weymouth

Picture
COST $40/person
Coil weaving is an ancient technique used to create baskets, vessels, mats, wall art, jewelry, and more! In this class, we’ll use fiber rush as a base and use yarn (or if you want to get really fancy, narrow ripped cotton fabrics) to wrap and coil a finished piece. This technique is simple, fun, and wildly versatile! Once you learn how to coil weave (which is not really weaving but rather coiling and hand-stitching), you can let your imagination run wild with possible uses for this art technique!

SKILL LEVEL All levels welcome.
SUPPLIES Bring fabric shears and a variety of cotton fabrics to rip and/or yarn. We’ll also have a supply of fibers and yarn available at class. Fiber rush and tapestry needles will be provided.
CLASS SIZE minimum 3, maximum 10
